Another month gone by? Can't be. I've been buried in the years between 1900 and 1911, getting acquainted with ancestors. Yesterday I worked eight hours, watching a doctor perform abdominal surgery and save the life of a prison guard who had been shot by my great-uncle during a prison break. It was so interesting to learn what options were available for anesthesia, antiseptic, etc., in 1911. The posse, the chase scene, the escape all kept me busy all day. Model T cars got stuck in deep mud, pursuers took to the trail on horseback, on foot and bicycle, blood hounds wouldn't hunt--all day exciting people and events made a trail through my writing space. I was fairly exhausted by evening. The manuscript grows by leaps and bounds. Back to work.

This sounds so exciting.
Can you tell me how you manage to drown out all the other distractions so you can focus on writing?
I can't seem to settle down to work. There are so many other things that need my attention.
